Hello, hello and welcome to my second soap tutorial on how to make some lovely confetti soap that smells of refreshing grapefruit. The perfect remedy for those groggy mornings!

YOU WILL NEED:

  • Melt and Pour Soap Base (Crystal Clear)
  • Melt and Pour Soap Base (White)
  • Large and small kitchen knife
  • Mixing bowl
  • Grapefruit essential oils
  • Orange colouring for soap
  • Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle
  • Mixing spoon
  • Teaspoon
  • Soap moulds
  • Microwave

Most of the ingredients you can buy online on websites like eBay, or you can buy them in-store at places like Hobbycraft. The Melt and Pour Soap Bases are from Stephenson Personal Care as part of a review and being a member of their Official Blog Program - you can join too!

1. Cut the clear soap base into cubes with a large knife for a faster melting process (I used approximately 200g of clear soap base in this tutorial). Place cubes in a microwavable bowl and heat at a low power for about 5 minutes, or until the cubes have fully melted. Never leave the microwave unattended.

2. Once melted, add approximately 8 drops of orange soap colouring (or as many drops as you like until you are satisfied with the colour).

3. Pour the orange soap base into some moulds and leave it to set for 2-3 hours (preferably in a fridge for faster cooling).

4. Once the orange soap base has set, remove them from the moulds and begin to cut them into little shreds with a cheese grater. Lightly scatter and fill the moulds to the top with the grated soap (as pictured top-right).

5. Cut the white soap base into cubes with a large knife for a faster melting process (I used approximately 300g of white soap base in this tutorial). Place cubes in a microwavable bowl and heat at a low power for about 5 minutes, or until the cubes have fully melted. Remember to not leave the microwave on its own when in use!

6. Once melted, add several drops of grapefruit essential oil until you are satisfied with the scent. Careful not to get too carried away as it can smell quite strong!

7. Carefully pour the grapefruit soap mixture into the moulds that contains the grated orange soap. Spray with alcohol to remove any unwanted bubbles. Leave to set, preferably in a fridge for 2-3 hours.

8. Pop them out of their moulds when they are ready and enjoy, or package them up nicely and give it as a gift to a good friend!

I hope you have lots of fun soap making - Feel free to comment on your experiences and all things soapalicious!
